Elementary School Teachers
Raquel Fuentes
1st & 2nd Grade Spanish, 1st Grade Homeroom
Sra. Fuentes is originally from El Salvador where she developed a love of the Spanish language and Salvadorian culture. Sra. Fuentes is entering her 27th year of teaching and specializes in reading instruction and teaching children the joy of learning. She earned by Bachelor in Pedagogy at the National Institute and the National University in El Salvador. She is currently enrolled in a graduate program at Notre Dame University.
Tyler Martin
1st & 2nd Grade English, 2nd Grade Homeroom
Mr.Martin joined the Sacred Heart community as the 1st and 2nd grade English teacher in 2019. He graduated from Catholic University with a degree in Elementary Education. He spent his college career working at many different schools in the DC area. Mr.Martin played 4 seasons on the Catholic University Men's Soccer Team. He continues following his soccer passion by coaching competitive soccer in the Bethesda area. He grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland and loves that he is able to teach close to home.
Adela Villatoro
1st & 2nd Grade Spanish aide
Ms.Adela joined the Sacred Heart community in 2019. She lived in China and taught there for many years before moving back to the states. Ms.Adela loves serving the children in our community. She has a passion for working with children and consistenly works along side Sra.Fuentes to ensure all children are learning and feel loved every day.
Letty Giron
1st & 2nd Grade English aide
Mrs. Letty joined the Sacred Heart team in 2016. She is passionate about serving children and families and supports the importance of bilingual education. She enjoys teaching/supporting children and has been a catehist for over 10 years.
Haley Nus
3rd & 4th Grade English
Ms. Nus is thrilled to join the Sacred Heart teaching staff. She has taught in both public and charter schools for the past four years. and she is passionate about engagement-based teaching methods. She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas, and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Trinity Washington University in D.C. Ms. Nus is very passionate about prayer and helping students develop life-giving intimacy and purpose with God.
Gloriana Vargas
3rd & 4th Grade Spanish
Ms.Vargas joined the Sacred Heart community in 2019 as the 3rd and 4th grade Spanish teacher. She is from Costa Rica and graduated from there with a Bachelor's in education. She has 10 years of experience as a teacher and has taught in the states for 3 years. She enjoys traveling and going back home to visit friends and family.

5th Grade English and Spanish
Ms.Gomez joined the Sacred Heart Faculty in 2015 and stepped into her new role in our elementary school in 2016. She is a graduate of the Catholic University of America where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Ms.Gomez enjoys returning home to Puerto Rico to spend time with family and friends.
